  • Rekeying after a move

New keys for the locks you already have, so the last tenant’s and the contractor’s copies stop working.

  • High-security cylinders

Pick- and bump-resistant cylinders with keys a hardware store can’t copy, including the kinds co-op boards ask for.

  • Police locks and deadbolts

Brace locks, deadbolts and reinforced strike plates, fitted to prewar doors and frames.

  • Building and mailbox locks

Master key systems, mailbox locks and lobby doors for supers, managing agents and co-op boards.

  • Car keys

Lost keys and fobs replaced and programmed where the car is parked, with no tow to the dealer.

  • Safes

Opened when the combination is lost, reset to a new one, or bolted to the floor.

Our manners

A locksmith is a stranger you let into your home. Here’s what you can expect from ours.

Every technician is individually licensed by the NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection.

  • A price before we come over

We ask about the door and the lock, then quote the whole job, travel included. It doesn’t change at your door.

  • A call when we’re close

Your technician calls about ten minutes before arriving, and sooner if they’re running late.

  • Licensed, with ID at the door

Every technician holds their own NYC locksmith license and carries photo ID with our name on it, so you can check who’s there before you open up.

  • Shoe covers inside

We cover our shoes before we step into your apartment.

  • No drilling unless we have to

Most locks open without it. If yours has to be drilled, we tell you why and what it costs, and you decide.

  • We leave it clean

We sweep up the metal shavings and take the old hardware away, unless you’d like to keep it.

What happens when you call

  1. You call

Tell us where you are, what kind of door it is and what’s wrong.

  2. We quote

You get the full price and an arrival time before anyone leaves. If it doesn’t suit you, there’s no charge.

  3. We arrive

Your technician shows ID, looks at the lock and confirms the same price before starting.

  4. You pay the quote

Card or cash, with a receipt that shows our name and address.

Questions people ask

How much will it cost?

It depends on the lock, the door and what’s wrong, so we ask a few questions and give you the full price on the phone. That price includes getting to you.

How fast can you get here?

It depends on where you are and the time of day. We give you an arrival time before you hang up, and call you if it changes.

Will you have to drill my lock?

Most lockouts open without drilling. If yours has to be drilled, we tell you why and what it costs before we start, and you decide.

My building requires a specific lock. Can you install it?

Usually, yes. Tell us what the building asks for, or the brand stamped on your current cylinder, and we’ll quote the matching lock. Some restricted key systems can only be cut by the dealer that registered them, and we’ll tell you if yours is one of those.

Can you make a car key without the original?

Yes, for most cars. We need the car’s VIN, your ID and the registration or title in your name.

How do I spot a locksmith scam?

Be careful with any locksmith who won’t give a total price on the phone, quotes only a small “service call” fee, or arrives in an unmarked car without ID. Get the full price, the company’s name and address, and ask to see the technician’s NYC locksmith license before anyone touches the lock.
